iO, AI-powered Wellness Smart Lamp

According to the Alzheimer's Association, 8 in 10 people in the population risk getting Alzheimer’s disease (AD) by the age of 85. Handwriting has been scientifically proven to strengthen brain connectivity, thereby delaying the onset of Alzheimer's. iO is a revolutionary wellness product that harnesses the power of AI to support and enhance your memory health. Designed as an AI-scanning lamp, iO captures precious memories and guides you through healthy routines, seamlessly integrating technology into your daily life for a brighter, more connected future.

iO, an AI-powered smart wellness lamp, harmonizes modern technology with the classic sophistication of handwriting. It fosters memory health and monitors cognitive wellness through handwriting analysis, habit tracking, and personalized reminders. Designed to delay Alzheimer's symptoms, iO adds a touch of warmth and elegance to users' lives.

iO, hero shot

Our inspiration stems from a blend of personal experience and a pressing societal need. Two team members, each with grandparents afflicted by severe Alzheimer's, ignited a profound sense of purpose to develop a proactive solution. Moreover, as we delved into research, the alarming statistic from the Alzheimer's Association—8 in 10 people risk Alzheimer's by age 80—underscored the urgency. This convergence of personal connection and societal imperative drove us to innovate a multifunctional lamp integrating healthy lifestyle promotion and early detection mechanisms, aiming to make a tangible impact on cognitive health.

After our extensive research, we found that there is no cure for Alzheimer’s diseases as of now, unfortunately. Early diagnosis, therefore, remains the primary means to delay brain damage and improve the quality of life of people affected. However, various research shows that adopting multiple healthy lifestyle factors may reduce the risk and delay of dementia.

About Alzheimer's disease

Despite the prevalence of digital devices, handwriting offers a number of cognitive and emotional benefits. Studies have shown that handwriting strengthens memory and learning by activating more areas of the brain, which plays a crucial role in delaying the onset of Alzheimer's symptoms. The slower pace also encourages deeper thinking and clearer writing and handwriting can spark creativity, improve fine motor skills, and even reduce stress and anxiety. Additionally, handwriting interwines personal narratives with emotion, capturing the essence of individual experiences and momories in a deeply human way. Lastly, handwriting analysis offers a non-invasive approach to early Alzheimer's diagnosis and treatment monitoring, leveraging machine learning for efficient healthcare interventions.

Benefits of handwriting

Since there is currently no cure for Alzheimer's disease (AD), adopting multiple healthy lifestyle habits is the only way to reduce the risk and delay the onset of dementia. We developed the iO ecosystem to enhance the effectiveness of personal health tracking and personalized reminders, ultimately helping to keep the brain active.

Our innovative wellness lamp, iO, operates as an all-in-one cognitive support system. It starts by scanning handwritten notes in a designated notebook using its built-in camera. Our software then analyzes these notes, which identify subtle changes that could indicate cognitive decline. At the same time, iO keeps track of daily activities noted in the book, like exercise or medication. Through its AI-driven algorithm, iO sends personalized reminders and tips via a mobile app. By continuously monitoring handwriting and lifestyle habits, iO helps users proactively maintain cognitive wellness and delay the onset of Alzheimer's disease.

Users can track their health and receive personalized AI suggestions based on their scanned notes. Additionally, they can share their notes with family members or friends and leave comments to encourage each other. There is another user profile version for family and friends to support the iO user. Family and friends can check the iO user's health status and mood and receive AI suggestions, such as tips on how to encourage them, which are different from the user's own AI suggestions.
