A Living Storyscape:
Cultural center design inspired by the ecosystemic principle of nature
This thesis examines museums role in society, highlighting power imbalances and colonial legacies. It suggests a new cultural approach that promotes diverse voices and dialogue, moving away from one-sided narratives. Inspired by nature, it proposes designing museums like ecosystems to create flexible, inclusive spaces that connect people to the natural world.
Today, museums often feel disconnected from everyday life, offering standard experiences that don't engage visitors individually. This research suggests a more human-centered approach to museum design and education, envisioning museums as lively centers for collaboration and exploration. By embracing collaboration and adaptability, museums can become vibrant places for cultural exchange and inspiration.
This thesis emphasizes ongoing communication and collaboration, reflecting nature's constant change. It will result in a mixed-media collage showcasing nature-inspired design principles, sparking discussions about museums' evolving role in society. In the future, this project could become a platform for designers to share ideas and experiences, enhancing our understanding of nature-inspired exhibition design.
