EquiVision Habitat:The Collective Dream works

Wuhan’s rapid urban growth is displacing low-income residents, highlighting gentrification's double-edged nature. I propose a Community Land Trust model to shift land ownership to a community collective, ensuring affordable housing, prioritizing long-term community welfare, and fostering inclusiveness and social diversity amidst urban development. This aims for a fairer, sustainable renewal.

Settlement space

The utilization of modular structures in urban spaces to create flexible community areas. By arranging these units, it transforms empty spaces into multifunctional zones, enhancing social interaction, providing recreational areas, and maintaining a balance between private and public spaces within the community.

Spatial justice and urban development

In sociology, gentrification and urban renewal are almost synonymous. The combination of land, new assets and commercial forms will release the vitality of the old city space, but also ruthlessly erase the original social relations.

Initially, elements like red bricks, micro cement, and pollution remediation were carefully peeled, retained, and professionally processed. In the structural change phase, distinctive parts were preserved.
