The Importance of Art Programming for Underserved Youth

As an art, educator, printmaker and multidisciplinary artist I love exploring different art practices to combine different techniques and new ways of working. Colors, layers, patterns and figures are all themes I like to dissect throughout my own creative process. As well as working with concepts that highlight nostalgia, playfulness and fun. As an individual filled with emotional depth, I often like to reflect on what brings me joy and what makes creating enjoyable. For me that is the exploration of colors, and patterns that encourage freedom within art making. Similar to myself and through my work I want to reach people through nostalgia, and offer them a sense of joy within themselves, as well as a sense of lightheartedness. I enjoy creating ‘exciting’ art that is fun to look at, but also fun to create.
