My work focuses on ideas and stories that I haven’t seen before or haven’t seen told from my perspective. A lot of my inspiration comes from my dreams, over-exaggerations of situations I’ve been in, stories from my family members about their childhoods, and the people from my home city of Brooklyn. I create work that is best described as wearable art, bridging the gap between apparel and fine art. What I create is certainly for the brave, pieces at the borderline of sculpture and apparel that are meant to cause immediate attention to the wearer by using bright colors and found materials.  As a maker I want to show people previously unimaginable possibilities, and encourage them to love and re-wear art.

These are two looks from the first semester of my collection development. I created these "DEZ" mascot heads as an abstract version of myself with various hair styles.

I created this image in Photoshop using a photo of graffiti I took back home and a photo of myself from elementary school. I've used this as the "calling card" for my collection

To be printed on fabric yardage

This is one of the custom prints I created for my collection. I like to hide/reveal text that people have to get close up to see and read.

Playing With My Patterns

Adobe Premiere

This is the first iteration of the short film to represent my collection. I played around with layering my prints on moving images and giving them a new life.
