Leah is a natural gatherer. She aspires to bridge divides between experiential design and industrial design. In her time at RISD she has worked tirelessly towards doing so, designing and executing a variety of events, installations and activations for students, administrators and the Providence community. If industrial design includes the creation of services that engage users in ways that are considerate of culture and traditions, then experiential design in the built environment is industrial Design.

From this contemporary age of uncertainty will come a new age of design. Leah is both prepared and excited to contribute all she can in order to improve the lives of those around her, as the Industrial Design program has taught her to do.

Within Passages, Within Time

Within Passages, Within Time was part of an exhibition at Fort Adams State Park in Newport Rhode Island. My installation is an intervention, one that intended to bring to light the presence of soldiers who once stood guard within the walls of Fort Adams, whose experiences, efforts and presence — even in a contemporary moment of restoration — are kept in the shadows.

Living Dolls Installation

On Closing Night of the Spring 2019 Styleweek Northeast, designer Zoe Grinfeld ('20 AP) presented a three-look capsule collection modeled by her “living dolls” in a life-size doll’s box. Inspired by the intersection of the 1992 Totally Hair Barbie and today’s Barbie Fashionistas, I outfitted an 8-foot pink box with this series of vinyl graphic elements.
