Breathing in a new life to the practice and tradition of Industrial Design, manufacturing, and sustainability. All works shown share a connection to the past fields and studies of Industrial Design, thus highlighting the fact that they are in fact part of a long lineage of Design, a lineage which represents consideration in every curve, originality in every form, and an inspiration to future designers willing and wanting to improve the world and society around them.

Arbit-chair
Cold Rolled Steel 3/8" Rod
40" x 21.5" x 14.5
The inspiration behind this chair was every preceding chair before it, every chair prides itself on symmetry and the ability to use modular pieces - which thinking from a manufacturing perspective is desirable and expected. I chose to have virtually every piece (exception of one part) be custom bent. The outcome shows a chair that seems to construct itself.

"Sol" Chair
Stamped Steel, Bent Cold Rolled 3/8" Steel Rod, Fiber Glass, Plastic
45" x 20" 30"
Inspiration for this chair was provided by watching the automotive manufacturing industry and seeing how versatile and powerful the stamping machines are that are used for stamping out car parts. I dreamed of using one machine and one mold for stamping out the pieces for the backrest, seat, and legs. Those pieces would be combined into a finished product.
