Jane Campbell
Robertson

I graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Furniture Design. Through a multifaceted education, I have had unique opportunities to design across many methods and materials. My design approach melds understated minimalism with bold color indulgence. All of my work is unified by detail-oriented thinking and empathetic creative thinking. The projects featured on this publication are all collaborative, I enjoy the rigorous and illuminating process of working with other designers/makers!

JCR X KLH: Color Mats

Marsh grass, wool, cotton yarn
38" x 23"

These decidedly colorful mats were designed in collaboration with textiles designer Kelly Lucero Hughes. Inspired by Scottish tartans, we sought to create a colorway that contrasts with the natural marsh grass.

JCR X Lowercase NYC: Oldt Glasses

Italian-made acetate, German-engineered hinges, Zeiss lenses
Lens: 41mm – Bridge: 27mm – Temple: 140mm

During a 3 month long internship with Lowercase, a boutique eyewear brand based in NYC, I designed and fabricated a limited edition, high craft eyewear collection called Oldt. My intent was to create a stylish shape that suited a high prescription lens. Three pairs of the Oldt frames were selected to show in the Fall 2019 Furniture Design Trienniel at RISD.

Chair

JCR X KLH: Folding Chair

White oak veneer, brass hinges, leather
23.5" x 22.5" x 26”

Designed in collaboration with textiles designer Kelly Lucero Hughes. This design is an elegant take on a camping chair. The back legs fold to save space and make the chair easier to carry. The wooden parts were made by laminating layers of white oak veneer, and the leather was cut to shape to hold the chair together with tension.
