Gutbrod

My focus stems from natural and social sciences as I strive to learn more about human involvement in different ecosystems. I use furniture design to explore themes such as human intimacy and the role of bodies in domestic spaces, as well as the surreality of the American suburban experience. My work draws inspiration from natural textures and aims to create work that one can touch and interact with. Experimenting with a variety of materials helps me activate my design process. I find it rewarding to approach my creative process with an interdisciplinary mindset, and am always looking for new ways to approach problem solving. As I explore the world around me, I base my artwork and design off of my experiences, research, and observations.
