My body of work runs the gamut from playful design objects to fine art furniture that explores memory, intimacy and the gendered body.

Kozo Screen
Kozo handmade paper, steel
6', 10'10", 1/2"
This screen is the material embodiment of the way I feel when my mother plays the piano - and therefore my association with the piano itself. As a child I knew not to disturb my mother when she played, I could hear her creating a world around her. Sanctuary. The delicate paper represents the fragility of the veil, the breath-holding silence her playing demands.

First Blood
Ash wood, ink
33", 18", 18"
First Blood is a call to divorce the social construction of femininity from the naturally occurring phenomenon of menstruation. Culturally coding menarche as a rite of passage into womanhood binds an inevitable physical process with socially constructed reality—condemning the female bodied to embarking on a path to womanhood and femininity regardless of gender or consent.

Flip Frogs
Maple veneer, paper
2.5", 4", 5"
The challenge with these charming jumping frogs was to achieve the bend radius in the legs with veneer - once that was solved the rest was a breeze. They flip and jump and are a joy to interact with.
